How Much Does Liposuction Cost?

liposuction procedureWhen considering liposuction surgery, it is important to consider the price. However, it is important to keep in mind that it is typically better to get the best liposuction rather than the cheapest. This is because sometimes, the cheapest liposuction can turn out to be the most expensive, in the event that one must undergo further cosmetic surgery in order to repair the damages from the first surgery.

Several factors will determine Liposuction Price, such as the amount of time and effort which is required by the surgeon, the size of the patient, operating room fees, the cost of anesthesiologist’s services, preoperative lab fees and other related expenses.

The price of liposuction  may also be effected by the experience of the surgeon. For instance, an expert surgeon who has performed thousands of surgeries, always achieving the best results and is always in great demand will probably charge much more than one who is less experienced. Some surgeons may offer discounts or free consultations, where some surgeons with less desirable results might lower their prices to attract newer patients.

This prices are only a guide. We contacted several clinics in the US. The prices below where quoted to us either through email or over the phone.

The body area also plays a part in liposuction price. The following is a list of an average range of prices based on body parts:

    * Abdomen, upper and lower: $3,200 – 7,600
    * Abdomen, lower only: $1,800
    * Arms: $1,400
    * Back and shoulder: $1,300 – 3,800
    * Breasts reduction, male/female: $3,300 – 5,500
    * Buttocks: $1,800 – 5,000
    * Chin, cheeks, face and neck: $1,800 – 4,700
    *  Thighs and knees: $2,500 – 5,500
    * Hips and waist: $1,800 – 6,000

Some surgeons might quote a single global fee which will cover just about every surgery related expense in a single sum. This is typically the sum of the surgical fees, including nonsurgical fees and the fee for general anesthesia, if any will be used. This will also be used in the event that the surgery is to be performed either in the office of the surgeon or the surgical clinic.

A prospect patient who telephones the office of the surgeon in order to inquire about the cost of undergoing liposuction surgery would best keep in mind it is important to first determine whether or not the quote will be a global fee or if it will only be the surgical fee. In the event that an office employee or a secretary answers the phone, they may offer just the surgical fee as provided by the surgeon and neglect to mention other such vital information, such as the fee of the anesthesiologist, if any is used, as well as the fee for the operating room.

Some surgeons might prefer to offer their potential patients a single, itemized list of any and all anticipated costs of the surgery. Some of these costs may include the fee that of which is paid to the surgeon for his services, or the surgical fee, the fee for the anesthesiologist, if any, any preoperative laboratory test fees, the operating room fee, charges for any postoperative elastic compression garments, in addition to any and all antibiotics or otherwise recommended drugs.

In the event that the surgeon is not able to control all related expenses, fixes prices will be used. This is possible in situations such as the cosmetic surgery taking place in a hospital operating room with an anesthesiologist from the hospital. These prices may also be used by any surgeon who is used to performing multiple surgical procedures while the liposuction is being performed.

US Private Clinics

These liposuction prices a from US private cosmetic surgery clinics not public or private hospitals where the pricing would increase. So how much does liposuction cost? It depends on the area(s) and the amount being done. But usually it will cost between $US1500 and $US6000 for basic guidance.

This includes the theatre costs and anaesthetic fees. Some people who have very large areas, or many different areas, may need to be done in more than one operating session. This is preferable rather than going to hospital and having additional fees for the overnight stay and anaesthetist, and expensive theatre fees.
