An Exploration of Laser Liposuction

Before Laser Liposuction, liposuction was a surgical method that is utilized by a wide variety of people to reduce fat deposits in the body. It is often a last resort for people that struggle with weight to an extent that can’t be satiated with regular diet and exercise. While it is not to be seen as an answer to obesity, some people find that it helps with their overall health goals. The latest form of this surgery and in some ways the most advanced option to look at is laser liposuction.

Traditionally liposuction was done with an outpatient surgery that required a tube to be inserted into the body in order to suck out fat. This process had a varied success rate, and in many cases would require a good amount of recovery time after the fact. However, as the surgical procedure gained in popularity, research was done to further explore less intrusive, more effective options. These options led the way to create a better solution, and that has been proven to be laser liposuction.

The process works in a variety of ways, and proves to work quite well. Liposuction surgery involves incisions, usually small, to locations where fat deposits lie. A tube is inserted into the incisions and a small laser emits a beam of energy that liquefies fat and it is easily sucked out through a vacuum. One of the positive side effects associated with this type of option is that it helps tighten the skin around the area, with less bruising.

Laser procedures differ from traditional procedures including  Tumescent liposuction and Vaser liposuction, in both the cost and the recovery time. The recovery time associated with liposuction is usually not too long. However, it has been dramatically shortened with the introduction of laser options. The other major change is in terms of price. Opponents of the laser idea like to cite the additional cost to the procedure, and that is true. It is true that the costs are higher, but the benefits are also higher and easier to manage and manifest than traditional recourse.

It should be noted that when removing fat, it is much harder to remove from men than women. Fat is fibrous and tougher in men than in women. Men are generally larger in size and therefore require more time to work on than women, and the costs associated with surgical procedures of this nature for men general cost more.

The price tag associated with laser liposuction traditionally starts at around $3,000. The fee usually reflects fees associated with tests, prescriptions, and the procedure. Obviously, liposuction price varies from physician to physician, and it should be weighed out greatly. When discussing procedures with a physician make sure that you look at any additional fees, extra costs, or things that might not be covered in the base price. There are a lot of little things that people can overlook, so it is important to ask questions and get clear answers. This form of weight loss is not to be treated lightly, as there are serious risks involved for some patients.
